Meet the family

Meet the Hanselman family!

Jennifer, super-busy mom to seven great kids, is the author of Return of the Party of Nine: Life with Sextuplets + One, as well as Party of Nine: The Triumphs and Traumas of Raising Sextuplets + One. She likes to read, watch movies or do crafts in the 5 or 6 minutes of free time she gets each day.

Keith, dad of steel, is a chemist at Ben Venue Laboratories in Bedford, Ohio. A big kid himself, he likes comic books, super heroes and action figures, but has a ways to go on learning to share his toys!

Connor, big brother deluxe, is 6 and in first grade. He loves pirates, action figures, Legos and tormenting his sisters. He can be a great helper when the mood strikes him!

Isabella is the first-born sextuplet and don't you forget it! She has long been the diva of the house and is known for being demanding and very smart, in addition to the leader of the pack.

Sophia, our tiny peanut who only weighed 1 lb. 9 oz. at birth, is still the smallest of the bunch, but also the most determined. With her long eyelashes and large mop of dark hair, she has been voted "Most Likely to Get Away With Anything" by her admirers.

Lucy, the little mother hen of the group, is the most vocal and has tons of questions about everything. She is always worried if someone is crying and spends her days playing with Barbies and little animals that she lines up and takes on adventures.

Logan is a big flirt with hair that curls when he needs a haircut, just like Daddy. Logan likes to wrestle with Alex (and the girls, when they let him) and enjoys taking toys from his brothers and sisters to make them howl!

Alex is likely to be our future engineer since he enjoys taking things apart and sitting quietly playing with something to figure it out. He loves trains and any kind of little cars, which he enjoys driving on the windowsills in the play room.

Kyle, our resident thumb-sucker, has yet to begin talking and has been diagnosed with autism. He loves to dance and giggle along with his favorite movies on tv. Like Linus, he has a special blanket that goes everywhere with him! He also has an autism service dog, Teton, who accompanies him to school and anywhere else he goes. Teton is a Golden Doodle (Golden Retriever/Standard Poodle mix) whose job is to keep Kyle safe (they are tethered together in public to keep Kyle from wandering or bolting off), comfort him during meltdowns and help Kyle's social skills as people ask him about his buddy. She is a wonderful dog and all the kids love her!

Stripe, Gizmo, Bailey and Oscar are the family's four cats. They spend most of their days trying to avoid the kids and Teton, but they do have moments of bravery where they leave the safety of their basement, steal a lick of water from Teton's bowl and allow themselves to be petted.
